The -ing family: software in the present tense

Why the tools are named the way they are, and the one rule that ties every one of them together.

Drafting. Sliding. Lighting. Three of the tools share a shape in their names, and it isn't an accident. The -ing is the present continuous: something happening now, still in motion, not finished. That's how the studio thinks about software. A tool is never done. It's being made, in the present tense.

One rule across all of them

Names aside, there's a rule every tool obeys. The AI proposes, you accept, and only then does anything become real. In Drafting a sentence is a suggestion until you accept it into the document. In Working a plan is a suggestion until you accept it into a file. Same rule, different surface.

The AI writes the first draft. You write the document.

It keeps the human where it matters. Not approving a machine's output line by line as a chore, but deciding what is worth keeping.

Small, self-hostable, yours

Coxpit doesn't end in -ing, and Working is a native app, not a web tool. What ties the family together isn't the suffix. It's that each one is small, runs on your own machine, keeps your data in a plain file, and is open source. The name is a wink. The rule is the point.
